Red Deer Homes sales rebound!

Red Deer homes sales rebound after May’s daunting numbers.

save money selling your home in Central Ab

A couple of interesting things happened with Red Deer home sales in May 2020. We made it through another month of uncertainty with COVID-19 and homes sales improved.

Also, beginning in June the Central Alberta Real estate Board started using an improved system for MLS data. The new system gives Realtors a broader range of information and we’ll see some stats differ as categories change or blend.

The good news however is, sales improved and it shows there’s still life going on during COVID-19. With the relaxation of precautions in May, homes started back on the market and buying activity improved too.

The COVID-19 uncertainty continues to have an impact but comparing April sales to May sales the impact has lessened.

Residential home sales in April were down approximately 57% but only 39% in May. Sales are generally higher in May than April so that might make a small difference but part of the good news is the decrease percentage improved.

We’ll continue tracking the Red Deer and Central Alberta market through COVID-19. It’s interesting to watch how the market handles the pandemic impact. Homes will continue to sell even if the numbers are lower and there will be buyers taking advantage of the current opportunity.

Above are sales numbers for Red Deer but if you’d like more specific stats for towns or counties in Central Alberta call or text Blake King at (403) 350-7672 anytime.

We track a number of stats at www.HomeScope.ca including sales numbers, average price and inventory levels to mention a few. Before buying or selling your home understand how stats should affect your decision. Avoid blindly buying or selling, know your market.

Blake King with Big Earth Realty hosts this iOnRealEstate.ca real estates news website and it’s will mirror HomeScope.ca for a couple of months. HomeScope is the original Red Deer real estate news, stats and information website but it was compromised somehow and the host can’t fix the issue. It is viewable but can no longer be updated. The problem is likely fixable but this mirrored site is hosted by a different host where there are less problems.
