Last year’s home sales appeared very high but that was partly due to 2020 sales being very low.
January 2022 detached home sales were 17% higher than in January 2021. And that’s a considerable amount knowing January 2021 home sales were 39% higher than January 2020.
As I mentioned above, some perspective on this comes from knowing that 2020 home sales and the years preceding it were very low.
If you read last month’s home sales post you’ll have read how 2021 sales outpaced 2020 by 49%. It will be interesting to see how this year plays out with news of interest rates increasing and with inventory so low right now.
