Red Deer home sales up for the 4th month in a row

home sales in red deer

I don’t have to remind anyone of the Red Deer home sales slump that happened following the onset of health precautions for COVID-19. Sales were down substantially in April and May but they’d recovered by June.

low commission home sales

Knowone was sure what would happen considering all the implications of COVID-19 but we were happy to see sales back to normal numbers as soon as June.

Some worries have been put to sleep now that sales have remained higher than 2019 in June, July, August and now again in September but there’s still uncertainty.

The higher Red Deer home sales may still be a “spill-over” from the sales that didn’t happen as they normally would have in April and May. In April and May, single-family detached home sales were down an average of 49% (93 homes) and that can take awhile to recoup. As of the end of Sept 2020 sale are still 5% lower than 2019 sales so we can’t be certain anything extraordinary is happening.
