Home sale in Red Deer have been higher than normal since around the beginning of 2021 and this year it’s continuing even through interest rate concerns. With news of mortgage rates increasing we could be seeing a number of buyers rushing to purchase before rates are even higher.

Red Deer detached homes sold 11% higher than May 2021 but sales of homes other than detached have really increased. Sales of attached homes including townhomes, duplex units (semi detached), and apartment condos increased by 66% in May. And the much higher attached home sales have been happening since early 2021. 2021 overall saw 46% more attached homes sell than in 2020, with some months more than twice as high as the year prior.

Red Deer home sales overall were 24% higher May 2022 over May 2021.
